Courtney, this is such a refreshing and relatable take on the Substack journey! I love how you emphasize the importance of embracing the process and allowing your voice to evolve. It's so true that who we are as writers (and as people!) is constantly changing. Your honesty about the ups and downs of building a readership is also super helpful. It's a great reminder that consistency and authenticity are key. Thanks for sharing your insights – you're inspiring!
I am thoroughly enjoying this interview series you are doing Jana. They are very insightful and it’s a great experience to see from another perspective.
Couldn’t agree more about saving posts for when you have a moment to slow down. I find myself doing this often for when I have a quiet 10-15 minutes where I have no distractions. Everywhere else you feel like you have to do everything as soon as it is live. I like the slower nature of Substack too!
I'm so relieved to know I'm not the only one writing my posts the day before (or day of) publication!
Ooh, so many of us can relate 😊
Sometimes, it feels like running away from the snowball chasing you down the hill.
OMG - that's the perfect visual. My heart started racing just imagining it.
And, yes, I am writing today's post right now. 🤪

Thank you, Jason. I'm so glad you enjoying them. There's so much to learn from every writer, am I write 😌
I enjoyed this so much! Thank you, Jana! 💙
It's been my pleasure; ever since I started this series, I have wanted to include your perspective. So, thank you!
