Hello, Lucy! I'm SO sorry I didn't see your comment until today. Wonky notifications. Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was really fun to write!
That was inspirational, Jamie. I learned so much about you and how you work. Wow! As I’m new to the Substack world, this was very helpful. I am definitely going to get the Scrivner app for writing and organizing my research. You have a natural, authentic voice which is something I aim for in my own writing. As a first born, perfectionist myself, I also thrive when I have some structure for daily routines. I must be mindful of how I spend my time. It’s good to learn how to relax as well. Spontaneity is good. But, chaos! It must not reign!
And yet, chaos did reign a bit, which is why I am so embarrassingly late in responding to your lovely comment. Only just seeing it today! (So sorry.)
Thank you for such lovely compliments. I'm blushing a little.
I'm mostly delighted, however, to hear that you're going to check out Scrivener. It is an absolute game changer. I hope you love it as much as I do, and would love to hear how you make out once you get it!
It’s okay, Jamie. Thanks for acknowledging. I know it’s hard to keep up with everyone’s comments. I haven’t figured out Scrivener, but I’m working on it.
Refreshing read! Feels great to connect on so many things here 🥰☀️
Letting go, being out of the box and being kind to yourself - is the message I pick up, a message important for me to remember right now because many times it feels like so many things to do and so little time
Hello, Saima. I'm very sorry that this response is coming so late. Somehow our trusty Substack did not alert me to comments on this post, and then - as my friend Miranda says - "life got lifey."
Thank you very much for reading and for sharing your takeaways. I'm touched at how you've articulated the main messages because I don't think I could have said it better myself.
Hi, Lauren. I'm so embarrassed to be responding to your lovely comment so late. I didn't get any notifications for comments, and was just blustering along through my days in complete oblivion. ANYway - thank you very much. 😊 And I'm so glad you liked the audio. I am one of those people who can't stand to hear her own voice, but I'm also someone who greatly appreciates the option to listen to posts when I don't have time to sit and read. I'm learning to be less critical of myself, and to even have a little fun with the process!
I totally know what you mean about listening to your own voice!! But it's also a nice option - and I thought you sounded great, plus it adds more character! 😊
Jamie, your honesty about the struggle to balance a creative passion with the demands of daily life really resonated with me. I often find myself teetering on that same tightrope, trying to carve out time for writing amidst the chaos of work and family. It's a constant juggling act, but your words remind me that I'm not alone in this. Thank you for sharing your experience so openly.
First - sincere apologies for somehow not seeing your comment until today. Dratted notifications fail.
Second, thank you so much for reading and for letting me know that the struggle to balance resonated because that makes ME feel less alone. 💜
Also ... I have to tell you that I have several of your posts saved to read later ... but time has been SO scarce lately. I feel like we walk a lot of the same territory, and am really looking forward to diving into your posts.
Oh, you are totally okay! I do that with my DMs on substack all the time… I often feel SO bad, and then have to remind myself that it just happens. So, I get it and you have unlimited grace :) Plus I don’t expect a reply to any of my comments.
Oh that is so kind of you to say! I completely understand about time. I hope you enjoy them, when you have a bit of time to spare!
Hello, Rhaine, my friend. Ugh - can't believe I missed a bunch of comments on this post, including yours. I feel like a bad Substacker. 🥺
But ... better late than never?
Thank you for reading and for the kudos. It was a super fun process, and really made me think about some things I hadn't thought about before. Always learning! xo
This was gorgeous, thank you.

Thank you for sharing, Anna. I am so glad you found Jamie's view helpful. That is the aim of the series, so you made my day

Not alone at all, Saima. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Jana 😊
Enjoyed your answers Jamie, and a treat to listen in audio form too!
Another great interview Jana!
Thanks both 😊

No worries at all!! I literally wrote something recently about not feeling a rush to reply etc (here if interested https://open.substack.com/pub/smallstack/p/dopamine-hits-on-substack-intentionally?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=2380rr) so you are right on brand haha! 😉

Thank you, Rhaine, SuddenlyJamie suggested recording audio, and I think that brought the interview to life
Great interview!
Thank you, Matthew! I'm a massive fan of Inner Wilderness Unlimited. I highly recommend it 😊
Jana asks great questions!!
