This series has been incredibly insightful so far. It’s amazing to see behind the scenes and the strategies people use. And also that in some cases they don’t have a strategy and more go with the flow.

When I see people being successful in any form of work my mind just always jump to “they must have it all planned out”, so reading this was almost relaxing in a way

Keep up the amazing work Jana, I’m enjoying the variety you’re able to post weekly!

Aw, thank you, Jason, for your time. It means so much that you enjoy the read and find it beneficial. I must say that it helps me, too, in the same way. I often wonder how other writers work, and it’s enjoyable to read the book's recommendations, too 😊

I think it was John Lennon who said 'Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans' - Life has shown me this to be true time and time again! These days I try to let it all unfold a bit more organically 😊

Thanks for another great BTS piece! It's so fun to hear about other writers' Substack experiences in an informal way. I love the answer to #6 about overcoming self doubt. That's always a tough one. I was also intrigued at the mention of Toko-pa Turner's book, Belonging. That's the second time I've heard the book mentioned in as many days. I own a copy. I guess maybe I should read it! ;)

Yes, absolutely, SuddenlyJamie, go on and read the book; it's a sign.

Thank you for sharing and engaging with the post. I truly enjoy collaborating with writers and getting a sneak peek behind their processes. There's so much to learn from everyone.

Dr. Vicki has shared her process so generously and openly. I secretly love that she prioritised this interview ahead of the taxes, I hope without any negative consequences.

Yep, all good - the taxes are *almost* done!!!

You should definitely read it Jamie, it's a beautiful book 😊

Thanks for sharing this, it's wonderful to hear about NOT having a strategy and just going with what feels right - I've tried that in the past and succumbed to pressure to "have a plan" and so this is a lovely reminder to do what works for you, and then you need to do continually motivate yourself to turn up. Thank you both x

And I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed it, Lucy. It’s so important to show that there’s no one way that’s fits all and sometimes best strategy is not having strategy. Whatever works 😊

Thanks Lucy. I'm glad to hear that was helpful 😊

Such a lovely conversation, Vicki and Jana. The care and time you take with each newsletter really shines through, Vicki - your fortnightly essays read as though you really thought them through, with attention to quality and impact, rather than just sending something off for the sake of "content." Very much appreciate that as a reader!

Really enjoyed reading this, and seeing how another writer reflected on some of these questions as I had done ☺️

Thank you both for sharing, and I look forward to diving into Vicki's Substack! 💚
